What are the basic qualifications for a guide?: 

Must be Thai nationality. Age not less than 18 years old.

How to hire a guide?: 

Search on website of Department of Tourism and yearly directory of Professional Tourist Guide Association of Thailand. Dealing can be made individually and based on minimum rate according to Tourism Business and Tourist Guide Act A.D. 2008 of Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Thailand.

Is licensing for Guides required? How is it obtained? How often must it be renewed?: 

Yes, it is required.
Must be passed a tourist guide training course of any university that approved by Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Thailand.

Who is responsible for certification?: 

Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sport.

Training by Whom? Theory & Practice.: 

Any university that approved by Department of Tourism for training.

Based on language and experience.
Approximate fees in Euro or local currency: Half Day: 
Based on language and experience.

Based on specified minimum rate according to Act.
