During the WFTGA International Convention in Japan, all participants are invited to take part in a series of moderated Global Round Tables, which will be held both on-site and online to ensure inclusive participation from our worldwide guiding community.
Ten key themes—identified throughout the past year during the Global Networking Forums—will form the basis of these discussions. They reflect the current priorities, challenges, and aspirations of tourist guides around the world.
The sessions will be prepared and expertly moderated by Maricar Donato together with the WFTGA Area Representatives, ensuring a structured, respectful, and forward-looking exchange in line with our Code of Guiding Practice.
The outcomes of the Round Tables will be presented on Friday, the Closing Day, and further explored in a dedicated panel discussion. These collective findings will guide concrete actions to be implemented after the Convention and will form the foundation for continued work leading into the next WFTGA Convention in 2028.
By engaging in this global dialogue—whether in person or online—we reinforce our shared commitment to professionalism, ethics, sustainability, cultural sensitivity, and the continuous advancement of our profession.
