The World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations represented by Vice President Rosiland Newlands brings Anniversary wishes from colleagues around the world....

Tourist Guides Associations in Czech Republic celebrate 5th year in 2006 in one of Europe’s most charming and beautiful cities; Prague. Professional Tourist Guides in Prague to host Members of the European Federation of Tourist Guides (FEG) for their 20th Anniversary celebrations. 

This weekend in Prague during the tourism fair Holiday world, Europe’s best ambassadors and economical multipliers are to address issues concerning the profession of Tourist Guides in Europe. Also attending is Vice President of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations Mrs. Rosalind Newlands. WFTGA is the world’s only international organisation and forum for the tourist guides. Mrs. Newlands will be there to launch for the media and the tourist guides the 2007 Convention Programme and its rich educational portion for professional tourist guides and industry partners world wide as well as availability of Tourist Guide Directory. 

The Lunch for the 20th Anniversary of the Federation of European Tourist Guide Asssociations will be attended by 40 guides organizations, representatives from Europe and 40 invited guests from the European Union administration, Diplomatic corps, Czech government and tourism industry. 

All this is to also celebrate February 21st, International Tourist Guides Day! This day around the world is celebrated in various ways around the world. 

Tourist guides around the word showcase our profession and give back to members of the industry, or to the community by providing tours, lectures or events free of charge. Each year, associations prepare various activities with the main goal of promotion for the local association and the WFTGA.
