Wasn’t that a wonderful Study Tour Day? With perfect weather conditions, inspiring encounters, and so many memorable experiences throughout the day. And what a delightful conclusion at the Fukuoka City Museum — excellent food, a warm atmosphere, and the joy of sharing impressions together as colleagues and friends.

Now, we are slowly approaching one of the true highlights of our conference: the Gala Dinner.

But before we celebrate together this evening, there is still more to discover.

Please ensure you arrive at the meeting point a few minutes early so that we can depart on time.

As we will be using Fukuoka’s public transportation and walking extensively, we highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes!

All morning tours conclude at the Fukuoka International Convention Center, where lunch will be provided. A shuttle service between the Hotel Okura and the Convention Center is available during the following windows:

  • Morning: 08:00 – 09:30
  • Mid-day: 12:00 – 14:00
  • Evening: 16:30 – 17:30

This year, there will be no auction, but exclusively the sale of raffle tickets.

  • ️Ticket sales are open now and will continue until 21:30 on Thursday.
  • Tickets can be purchased easily in online  via the conference app and payed via Creditcard or PayPal.
  • One ticket costs €10.
  • At 21:30, you will automatically receive an email informing you whether – and how many – of your tickets have won.
  • Prizes can then be collected at the Raffle Desk in front of the Gala Hall.

Why Your Participation Matters

All proceeds from the raffle will support the organisation of a Train the Trainer course in Africa.

Our aim is to educate new trainers who can, in turn, train further tourist guides creating a sustainable multiplier effect and strengthening professional guiding standards across the region.

By participating, you are not only taking part in the excitement of the evening – you are directly contributing to professional development, empowerment, and the growth of our global guiding community.

✨ Gala Evening

It is time for one of the true highlights of our conference – the Gala Evening.

This year, the evening will begin at 19:00 at the Hotel Okura in the 4th Floor. We look forward to welcoming you to a festive dinner accompanied by music, the official announcement of the newly elected Executive Board, and, of course, the presentation of the host destination for WFTGA 2028.

There will also be music and dancing as we celebrate together.

Please note that in Japan it is customary for events to conclude by 22:00, and therefore our Gala Evening will officially end at that time.

However, as we all know that tourist guides enjoy celebrating, singing and dancing, we have arranged a special continuation: from 22:00 to 24:00, a room with a karaoke machine has been reserved at the Lively Hotel for anyone who would like to continue the festivities in a more informal community setting.

We very much look forward to sharing this final evening together before we turn our attention once more to business during the Closing Ceremony, and before nearly 300 participants depart on their post-tour programmes.
