Meeting Point and time depend on your group which you will be informed about shortly.

Fukuoka City’s eastern seashore is rooted in a rich blend of ancient Shinto tradition, historical significance, and sprawling nature along its sand bridge and adjacent islands. Surrounded by the ocean, this tour visits two sites that exemplify how this proximity to the sea influences both the spiritual and practical life of the community. You will learn about the enduring significance of the ocean in Japan’s native religion, Shinto, and discover how advanced technology is now securing vital fresh water supplies for the region’s rapidly growing population.

(All Study Tours include a visit to Hakata Old Town, Fukuoka City’s historic merchant center, and the Fukuoka City Museum)

Lunch at Hana Midori is included.

The day ends at the Fukuoka City Museum, the venue of that day’s networking dinner.
