On the final day, you’ll have the chance to stand on one of the world’s most active volcanoes.
To make the most of our time on the island, the coaches will visit the below locations at different times:
・Sakurajima Ferry: A short boat ride across the bay of Kagoshima City that offers stunning, unobstructed views of the volcano approaching from the water
・Sakurajima Sabo Center: A museum that reveals the incredible engineering and science used to protect the local residents from the volcano’s frequent ash and lava flows
・Yunohira Observatory: The highest accessible point on the mountain, providing a dramatic, 360-degree view of the rugged lava fields and the shimmering bay below
・Sakurajima Radish Farm: A visit to the unique volcanic soil fields where farmers grow the “Sakurajima Daikon,” the largest raddish variety in the world
・Kakuida Black Vinegar Brewery: A scenic hillside brewery where you will see thousands of traditional ceramic jars aging “Kurozu” (black vinegar) under the sun and enjoy a lunch at this unique location
・Shinkansen (Bullet Train): After a full day of exploring the coach will bring you to Kagoshima’s Shinkansen station. There you have some time to explore before boarding Japan’s world-famous high-speed rail that will bring you back to Fukuoka. The Shinkansen runs on a second-by-second schedule so please follow the guide’s instructions exactly so that everything runs smoothly. Once you’ve arrived in Fukuoka you’ll be shown the way to the subway from where it is just a few minutes back to the neighborhood of the official covnention hotels.
