Thanks to the excellent discussions at our General Assembly in Fukuoka in February 2026, and to the dedicated work of Governology and our Constitution Working Group since then, we have made real progress: a full draft of the new WFTGA Constitution is now ready for your review.
Our goal is to adopt this important document at an Extraordinary General Assembly (online) towards the end of 2026, so that the new Constitution is in effect well before our Convention in Peru in 2028.
Timeline
- Friday, 14 August 2026, 19:00 CET
Online Q&A with members, the Executive Board and the Constitution Working Group. - Friday, 21 August 2026
Deadline for written feedback from members. - The Working Group will then collate all feedback:
if the feedback is minor, the General Assembly will take place in November 2026; if major changes are needed, it will move to January/February 2027. - Tuesday, 1 September 2026
Membership communication: formal notice of the proposed constitutional changes, with the resolution to amend and the revised Constitution attached. - After 1 November 2026
Extraordinary General Assembly (online), with a vote on the new Constitution (no other business).
How to give feedback
The Working Group has prepared the draft text below, along with a comparison document showing how it differs from the current Constitution. Please review both and add your comments directly into the draft document using Google Docs’ comment function, so that your feedback is visible to everyone and we can build on each other’s input.
At the online Q&A on 14 August, 19:00 CET, questions and comments should likewise be submitted in writing during the session, so that the discussion stays transparent and accessible to all.
