Sadako was two years old when she was exposed to the atomic bomb in Hiroshima, and ten years later, at age twelve, she developed leukemia.
While she was hospitalized, our father told her that if she folded a thousand paper cranes, her wish would be granted, and she continued folding them until her final moments.
Even as she was dying, Sadako never forgot her “Caring Heart.”

During my speech, I will share the truth of Sadako’s story—a truth that goes beyond the widely known “SADAKO Story” that has spread across the globe.
I will reveal what her true wish and the essence of her “Caring Heart” truly were.
