During this workshop, I will present the findings of my research and then work with you to explore specific issues you may encounter at your own destinations. As the challenges could range from quite similar to markedly different, together we will build a comprehensive overview of the potential impacts associated with increased visitor numbers, as well as the local measures in place to address them. Even if your destination is still able to welcome more visitors, your insights will be equally valued. Our shared aim is to achieve greater balance in tourism. I will outline the potential positive contributions that tourist guides can make, as identified in my thesis, before expanding on these ideas to consider the broader impacts discussed during the first part of the session. The goal is for everyone to leave with practical tools to better manage the effects of visitor numbers at your destination. This workshop will be interactive, and your contributions throughout will be greatly appreciated.
