Raffle – Please Bring a Small Gift from Your Home Region
16:15 26th Jan 2026

Dear WFTGA Convention Participants,

One of the most cherished traditions of our WFTGA conventions is the generosity of our participants. Once again, we warmly invite you to take part in this spirit by contributing to our WFTGA Raffle.

What we kindly ask you to bring

In keeping with the spirit of our sustainable convention, we kindly invite each participant to bring one small, meaningful item from your local region, with an approximate value of €15–30.

We encourage you to choose something thoughtful and lasting, rather than a mass-produced souvenir that may quickly be discarded.

This could include, for example:

  • A local food speciality (preferably non-perishable and responsibly packaged)
  • A small, authentic craft item made locally
  • Something that reflects your culture, heritage, or the guiding traditions of your destination

The most meaningful contributions are those that tell a story — about where you come from, what makes your region special, and what tourism and guiding mean in your local context.

By choosing items with purpose and authenticity, you help ensure that this raffle reflects not only generosity, but also our shared commitment to sustainability, cultural respect, and responsible tourism.

Item drop-off

Donated raffle items may be handed in:

  • Monday, 9 February
  • Location: WFTGA Raffle Desk | Exhibition Area, 2nd Floor
  • Fukuoka International Congress Center (FICC)

How the Digital Raffle will work

  • During the Convention, a digital raffle system will be available via the Convention App
  • Participants will be able to purchase raffle tickets digitally
  • Winners will be announced during the Gala Dinner and take home their prize directly afterwards

Please note that there will be no auction at this convention — the raffle will be entirely digital and simple to use.

Why this matters

All proceeds from the raffle will support the WFTGA Jane Orde Scholarship.

Our goal this year is ambitious but impactful: to raise €5,000, enabling us to deliver a Train the Trainer course in Africa, hosted by one of our member associations.

Rather than supporting only one individual, this approach allows us to:

  • Train local tourist guide trainers
  • Empower them to educate many more guides in their region
  • Create long-term, sustainable impact — true help for self-help

You can learn more about the scholarship here.  Your small contribution can make a lasting difference — not only for one guide, but for entire guiding communities.

Thank you for your generosity, your solidarity, and your continued commitment to professional guiding worldwide.

With warm regards,

Maricar Donato
Global Brand Ambassador & Raffle Manager
