WFTGA training is a pathway, not a catalogue. Each course assumes the one before it, and each is assessed — depending on individual results, WFTGA issues either a Certificate of Successful Completion or a Certificate of Attendance.

How the pathway fits together
- HOT — the practical craft of guiding, on walks, at sites and museums, and on the coach
- TtT — opens with HOT, then teaches you to break the craft down, train it and assess it
- ITtT — for National Trainers with 100+ hours of experience; entry by written Trainer Portfolio
- SGT — practical guiding skills for a specific site, commissioned by that site
- Specialist Guiding Courses — built to order around a speciality or destination
- CPD — one-hour online sessions that keep qualified guides current, year round
Certificates for courses run at the WFTGA International Training Centres are issued jointly with the University of Cyprus or Yerevan State University.
