How to use Zoom
WFTGA online sessions run on Zoom. If you have never used it, this takes about five minutes to set up — do it before the day rather than in the last five minutes.
1. Install Zoom
Download the free Zoom client for your computer, tablet or phone. You do not need a paid account to join a session.
2. Test your sound
Open Zoom and run the audio test. A headset with a microphone is worth far more than an expensive camera.
3. Join the session
Use the link in your reminder email or in My Courses. Join a few minutes early so we can start on time.
During the session
- Enter your full name as you would like it to appear on your certificate
- Mute your microphone unless you are speaking
- Use the chat for questions — the trainer or a moderator will pick them up
- If your connection struggles, turn off your camera; audio will hold up better
- Sessions are recorded from the trainer's view; participants are not in shot unless they speak
If something goes wrong
Leave and rejoin using the same link — that fixes most problems. If it does not, write to training@wftga.org. You will get the recording either way, so a technical problem never costs you the session.
