Guides in Action
Promoting guiding with photographs of real tourist guides in action. This is our President Sebastianโ€™s wonderful brainwave!
So many promotional pictures only show a site or landscape. These photos are two-dimensional. The Tourist Guide is the third dimension. We add depth to every place we take guests. Instead of a mannequin in a photo or a guide shown as a sidebar, the Tourist Guide should be captured guiding. That is the picture we need. This will help you promote yourself, your guiding business, your association, and your destination.
The WFTGA wants to help you with this.
First, we will host a simple webinar to share photographic techniques and some post-production tips. Helga Sturzenegger, International Trainer & Area Representative, and James Saunders, ExBo member, will host the session. Both have a passion and deep love of photography. The webinar will also be shared on the webpage for those unable to attend live.
Second, we will run a competition to find the best photos. A prize will be awarded and we are working on a suitable one. The judging will be done by Tourist Guides, with winners announced at the Conference in Japan.
This initiative will be entirely phone camera based, allowing everyone to join in. We are looking for real Tourist Guides, not professional photographers.
