The WFTGA welcomes three types of members: national and regional Associations of Tourist Guides (Full Membership), individual professional Tourist Guides from countries where no member association exists (Individual Membership), and tourism-related organisations who support the profession (Affiliate Membership).

In every case, we stand for Tourist Guides — locally licensed, locally knowledgeable professionals — as distinct from unlicensed tour guides, tour managers or tour directors.
