How long does an online CPD session last?
Why do we organise them?
- To provide a sample of practical knowledge and encourage exploration of the subject.
- To promote the WFTGA as a community of professionals specialising in different areas of guiding and guide competence.
- In order to build resources to develop WFTGA training in the future

The target group is chosen by the trainer depending on the topic he/she wants to address during his/her session.
What topics can be presented during CPD sessions?
A variety that supports the development of guides‘ and trainers’ competencies.
During the strategy session in July 2024, our trainers asked for topics such as:
use of technology in guiding, communication skills – the human aspect, heritage interpretation, dealing with crisis/difficult situations/natural disasters, specialised guiding (e.g. nature guiding), online guiding, cultural sensitivity, the latest information on training methodologies, slow food tourism, twilight tourism, public speaking, first aid, organising training along with some success stories and tips.

Do I need to have my own tools to run online sessions?
The WFTGA provides each presenter with access to the business zoom package.
Can I count on support in planning and running a session?
Members of the Training Committee will be happy to assist you in preparing your CPD session if you need it. We will help you create a plan, choose the right tools and be your technical support while you run the session.
Am I paid for holding online CPD session?
No fee is paid for running initial 1 hour lasting CPD session. The session could be developed into regular online training session afterwards. The regular training session will be paid.
Is there a development opportunity for my session?
After the initial CPD session and after consultation with the TC, it is possible to create a training course based on the session. Such a session will be chargeable and must last a minimum of 2 h.
