What our Area Representatives are doing right now
Being an Area Representative is an active, hands-on role. This is what the team is running in 2026:
Global Networking Forums
Monthly online forums hosted by a regional team โ the latest, hosted by Team Africa, drew over 180 registered guides from around the world.
MOVE 2026โ2028
"Turning Dialogue into Action" โ the framework born at the Japan Convention that translates our global conversations into concrete regional goals.
Code of Guiding Practice
Study sessions that bring the new Code to life, region by region, so every member association can adopt and apply it.
AI Toolkit Hub
A working group building a practical AI toolkit for tourist guides โ digital literacy and AI confidence for every region.
The MOVE framework โ our goals for 2026โ2028
Each regional team chooses the pillar where its guides need the most momentum, then works on it through forums, study sessions and local projects.
- Foundations โ professional standards, licensing and the case for qualified tourist guides.
- Tools, skills & technology โ modern training, digital literacy and AI confidence for working guides.
- Standards โ the Code of Guiding Practice and quality benchmarks, applied worldwide.
