Registrations Now Open for the Certified Interpretive Guide Course – Kraków, Poland, December 2025

WFTGA is delighted to announce the next Continuous Professional Development opportunity for qualified tourist guides: the Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) training course, certified by Interpret Europe. This 5-day, in-person programme will take place in Kraków, Poland, from 8–12 December 2025, in cooperation with the Małopolska Institute of Culture and the WFTGA Training Committee.

This internationally recognised course is tailored for professional guides who wish to expand their skills in heritage interpretation, interactive communication, and participatory group facilitation. Participants will be immersed in engaging methodologies that transform guiding into meaningful experiences for diverse audiences.

The CIG course combines practical exercises, museum-based activities, interactive workshops, and peer-reviewed sessions. Trainees will practice designing and delivering interpretive talks and walks, facilitating group interaction, and using value-based interpretation to create deeper connections with cultural and natural heritage.

The course and completion of a specific certification task  lead to an internationally recognised Certified Interpretive Guide qualification, awarded by Interpret Europe. This opens further pathways for participants towards becoming an interpretive trainer or writer within the IE framework.
