Dear Colleagues, Tourist Guides, WFTGA Partners and Friends,
This announcement serves to inform you that the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations Executive Board in collaboration with our Hosts, the Serbian National Tourist Guide Association, have made the difficult decision to no longer run the 19th WFTGA Convention scheduled to take place in February 2022, in Novi Sad Serbia.
The current global Pandemic (Covid-19) outbreak has unfortunately provided additional barriers to entry into Serbia for our Tourist Guide members and Convention participants.
We understand that the decision to no longer run our Convention in Serbia will cause inconveniences and we thank you in advance for your understanding and support. The Health and Safety of our colleagues is our priority at this time.
The 19th WFTGA Convention will continue to take place in February 2022, however in a different format to accommodate the current circumstances which will include provision for a Hybrid event. Further information relating to the details including destination, virtual attendance, programme, and registrations will be shared in the coming weeks.
This was understandably a very difficult and heart-breaking decision for all involved. We thank everyone, including the WFTGA Convention team and our Hosts in Serbia for the hard work and unwavering dedication throughout this process.
