European Tourist Guides Support EU HECTOR Awareness Event on Protecting Touristic Sites

Qualified tourist guides and members of the European Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (FEG), representing 25 European countries, were pleased to take part in the EU HECTOR project Awareness Event dedicated to the Protection of Touristic Sites in Europe.

The event was held alongside the 24th European Tourist Guide Meeting in the Dalarna region (Falun, Sweden). At the invitation of FEG, Hellenic Police experts Christos Leontidis and Cleopatra Vrontou delivered a focused workshop, shared the latest HECTOR project updates, and supported the dissemination of awareness materials through an information desk.

For professional guides, safety awareness and responsible group management are essential elements of quality guiding. Initiatives such as HECTOR contribute to strengthening preparedness and good practice across Europe, helping guides and tourism professionals support visitors while respecting cultural heritage and local communities.

More news and training opportunities for tourism and culture professionals will follow.
