Our first event in the 2025 online CPD Series will cover the entrepreneurial and professional aspects of tourist guiding, aiming to equip both aspiring and established guides with essential skills.
Key topics include:
- understanding the tourism ecosystem,
- transitioning to a professional mindset, and
- business essentials like the 4 Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion).
Participants will learn about marketing, branding, financial sustainability, and leveraging technology for growth. The session will conclude with a Q&A and future steps. The programme will be delivered online, lasting approximately 90 minutes with interactive elements.
Bio: Mateja Kregar Gliha is a Slovenian entrepreneur and tourist guide specializing in innovative tourism. With degrees in Economics and History, she has developed thematic tours in Ljubljana and hosted the TV series “Spoznajmo glavno mesto.” As president of the Association of Regional Tourist Guides of Slovenia, she also contributes to training programs for online tours. Currently pursuing her PhD, she focuses on innovative tourism approaches, including literary tourism.
