Did you know? WFTGA does not award tourist guide qualifications. We provide introductory and refresher courses on tourist guiding skills and Continuous Professional Development for already qualified tourist guides.
Why can I not get a tourist guide qualification from WFTGA? Professional Tourist Guides have an area-specific qualification, which is awarded by the appropriate local body, often the WFTGA Association Member or their local stakeholders. WFTGA can signpost you to the appropriate body.
Can I get a WFTGA Qualification? Yes, you can become a qualified WFTGA Trainer on successful completion of the 14-day Train the Trainer Course. WFTGA is the global accrediting body for trainers of tourist guides.
What happens after the Train the Trainer Course? On successful completion of the Train the Trainer Course you hold the qualification of National WFTGA Trainer . You are invited to join the WFTGA Training Division Team, where you will find ongoing support. WFTGA Trainers sign a Code of Conduct of the highest training standards and pay a small Annual Trainer Registration Fee. You will be listed on the WFTGA Website, will have access to training news and resources and to many other benefits. In short, you become an important member of the WFTGA family.
