Masahiro Sasaki

I serve as the Chairman of the NPO SADAKO LEGACY and the Representative Director of the General Incorporated Association, Sadako's Paper Cranes. I am the older brother of Sadako Sasaki, by two years—the girl whose image inspired the Children's Peace Monument in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. When the bomb was dropped, I was exposed to the radiation at our home, just 1.6 kilometers from the hypocenter, alongside Sadako, our mother, and our grandmother. Since around 2001, I have dedicated myself to sharing the importance of peace and the profound "Caring Heart" Sadako taught us, speaking at various events both here in Japan and across the world.
