Yosho Irie

Professional Calligrapher

I am a native of Fukuoka Prefecture and have dedicated my life to the art of shodō (Japanese calligraphy), an artistic pursuit I began at the age of 10. I graduated with a degree in Japanese Literature from Bukkyo University and hold a high school teacher's license in shodō. My expertise is rooted in rigorous study under revered masters, including Fukuko Ogata, Seidō Yoshida, and Shigeyoshi Yoshida. My professional experience includes serving as an instructor for the Nishinippon Shimbun Calligraphy Association and as a specialist lecturer in penmanship at vocational schools. My artistic achievements have been formally recognized, including being an Award-Winning Calligrapher and the Representative Artist for the Western Japan Calligraphy and Art Exhibition. In 2017, I was honored to present a Solo Exhibition of my Calligraphy Works.
