The World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) is constitutionally committed to raising the global standards of professional tourist guiding through high-quality training and promotion of ethical practice worldwide. But we cannot do it alone.
At our inaugural Trainer Convention in Sabah in February 2025, we reaffirmed our mission to make accessible, sustainable, in-person training opportunities available worldwide. We believe that every tourist guide, regardless of location, should have the chance to develop their skills and elevate our profession.
Why We Need You?
While our International Training Centre in Nicosia, Cyprus has been a cornerstone of excellence over the years, one training location is simply not enough. There are talented, passionate tourist guides in Africa, Southern and Latin America, and Asia who lack access to training due to geographical and financial barriers. We need partners—dedicated members and stakeholders —who can host in-person training courses and make a lasting contribution to the development of the tourist guide profession and tourism sector.
Can you host a WFTGA Training Course?
We are open to offers from partners and stakeholders, who share WFTGA’s non-profit, capacity building ethos of empowering local tourist guides and supporting them to become strong voices within the global forum of professional tourist guides.
