Starting in January 2026, WFTGA Area Representatives from the Americas, Oceania, Caribbean, Europe, and Asia hosted six Global Networking Forums (GNF); three more hosted by Team Africa are coming up over the summer. The series will continue in the autumn with one more round from each Area Representative Team. Information about registering can be found here.
The infographic illustrates how the WFTGA MOVE Framework is transforming global dialogue into practical action between 2026 and 2028. Following the Global Roundtables at the Fukuoka Convention, tourist guide associations identified common professional priorities and translated them into regional action plans. The process began with the MAP phase, where regions defined SMART objectives based on their most pressing challenges, and continues with the ORGANISE phase, where specific actions, leadership responsibilities, and implementation commitments are established.
The infographic also highlights the different strategic priorities emerging across regions. Europe focuses on advocacy and regulatory recognition, particularly addressing illegal guiding and enforcement issues. Asia prioritises training, digital skills, and AI readiness through the development of regional training centres. The Americas concentrate on fair pay and market sustainability by developing practical tools to support professional tariff structures. Together, these initiatives demonstrate how diverse regional actions contribute to a shared global vision of a stronger, more recognised, and future-ready guiding profession.
The reported 33% participation rate, representing 269 active participants and 815 registrations, reflects an encouraging level of sustained engagement and suggests that MOVE is successfully creating a structured pathway from discussion to measurable professional progress.
