On 31 January, 2025, Sebastian Frankenberger, president of the WFTGA delivered a talk on Artificial Intelligence for Tourist Guides to members of the NFTGA.  He showed how recent developments in A.I. can now enable guides to automate and simplify many time-consuming tasks such as replying to emails, creating and updating schedules, preparing summary documents of meetings and talks, writing speeches, translating museum texts into audible speech, posting to multiple social media sites, and finding relevant tourist events and activities for any location.  It can also be used to compose poetry and songs,  create art, and add speech to images of people.  He anticipates that many A.I. systems will continue to develop at an explosive rate and totally transform many of our work and leisure activities.
