WFTGA Engages at ICCA Association Readiness Lab in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. | April 9, 2025 โ€“ The World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) proudly participated in the ICCA Association Readiness Lab: Navigating Disruption in Unpredictable Times, a dynamic and interactive workshop focused on preparing associations for current and future challenges in an evolving global landscape.

Representing WFTGA at the event was Maricar Donato, Global Brand Ambassador, who joined 60 participants from six countriesโ€”USA, Canada, Singapore, Mexico, Belgium, and The Netherlandsโ€”for an inspiring exchange of ideas and strategies to strengthen global association leadership.

Key insights shared during the lab include:

  • Establishing a Fundraising Advisory Task Force: A volunteer group to propose innovative fundraising strategies to the WFTGA President.

  • Budget Reallocation for Strategic Growth: Exploring investments in an Association Management Company or salaried staff to support the development of WFTGAโ€™s business model.

The workshop underscored the importance of long-term planning, agility, and member-driven leadership in the face of rising political and geopolitical uncertainties.

โ€œBusiness as usual may be the biggest risk right now.โ€

โ€“ Francisco Gomez, Factum Global

โ€œPolitical factors now directly permeate association activitiesโ€ฆ long-term strategies and investments are critical for your associationโ€™s survival.โ€

โ€“ Tommy Godwin, ECA
