Following the Sabah Trainer Convention earlier this year the Training Committee has welcomed a number of co-opted members, who are now contributing their talents and time to specific training-related projects.
Today, let’s meet National Trainer in Kazakhstan: Zhanar Gabit (pictured above at the Heritage Interpretation CPD Course in Armenia).
Many of you will have met Zhanar at the WFTGA Convention in Sicily, the Heritage Interpretation CPD Course in Yerevan, the Sabah Trainer Convention or at online events and will have been blown away by her smile, enthusiasm and energy. To say Zhanar is committed to WFTGA and to tourist guiding is an understatement. Ever since joining the WFTGA family she stood up for training standards and guiding ethics. She is leaving no stone unturned in her efforts to bring WFTGA Training to her native Kazakhstan and this is the special role she has now embraced on the Training Committee: WFTGA Training Co-ordinator in Kazakhstan.
Over the years Zhanar and her tourist guide colleagues in Almaty have taken the initiative to source funding and find ways to invite WFTGA Trainers to deliver HOT and TtT Courses. Together with Lada Khazanova, National Trainer in Kyrgyzstan, she represented WFTGA at local UNESCO events. Wherever she goes, she seizes opportunities and impresses through her pragmatism and not stopping at inevitable challenges.
We are delighted to welcome Zhanar to the Training Committee and hope she will inspire others to follow in her footsteps.
