Did you know that you can create your own course and have it endorsed by the WFTGA?
This is exactly what a group of WFTGA Trainers have done. The Online Guided Tours Team that consists of 5 WFTGA trainers created a course based on the use of technology to provide Online Guided Tours to people who cannot travel because of mobility issues, lack of resources, people who are socially excluded from the public life like prisoners and elderly people from nursery homes.
The course was endorsed by WFTGA as meeting the specific standards of the Federation and is now delivered online to tourist guides from all around the globe.
The Team has already trained 25 tourist guides during October and November in Greece, and the next course is planned for December (8-12th of December).
Our Trainers use the time of the low season in a creative way to communicate their knowledge and expand the horizons of the tourist guides. Team work is a huge capital for our mission as Trainers, use it in the best way!

What level of WFTGA support and acknowledgement is right for you?
Use the Accreditation route if you want to deliver the WFTGA Hands on Tourist Guiding (HOT) Course locally in the place, at the time, with the price structure and in the language best suited to local requirements. Valid for 3 years, course accreditation allows our local colleagues to use the full set of training material, benefit from independent moderation of course results and to receive official WFTGA certificates, for as many courses as local trainers decide to run.
Use the Endorsement route if you have developed your own course and want an expression of support and approval from WFTGA. An experienced WFTGA Trainer colleague will look at your course idea and work with you to shape your course to meet the required standards. Endorsement is currently available to WFTGA Trainers. A pilot is underway to explore the endorsement of external courses.
We are planning to revamp the WFTGA website
to list accredited and endorsed courses more prominently
and increase visibility for your training activities and programmes.
