Join our working groups
Shape the future of our global association: every area of responsibility of the Executive Board is a working group where members discuss tasks and help make decisions.
How the working groups work
At WFTGA we believe in collaborative leadership. Each member of our Executive Board (ExBo) has a specific area of responsibility. These areas serve as working groups where members can actively participate, discuss tasks and contribute to decision-making.
The working groups have the autonomy to make independent decisions. For significant decisions, or those requiring financial or human resources, the responsible ExBo member brings a proposal to the entire Executive Board. So while the Executive Board sets general guidelines, our membership can engage directly and influence the direction of our global association.
Why it matters
- More collaboration across the Federation
- More transparency in how decisions are made
- Active participation of members from every region
Our six working groups
Each group is led by the Executive Board member responsible for that area. See the Executive Board for the current portfolios.
Members
Fostering member relations and engagement. An association is by definition a cluster of members: without them it simply does not exist. We want to know more about you, whether you are a Full, Individual or Affiliate Member, and what you expect from WFTGA. This group brainstorms on members’ engagement: webinars, workshops, visibility, social activities and more. We want our members to shine, and we can do it together.
Public Relations
Media engagement, sponsorship and awareness. Amplifying the Federation’s visibility and impact through strategic media engagement, sponsorship, external partnerships and awareness among relevant organisations. Through targeted communication and creative storytelling, the group builds relationships with media outlets, secures sponsorship and promotes sustainable tourism practices.
Social Media
Our online presence and community. Enhancing the Federation’s online presence through compelling content, emerging trends and interactive communication, to reach a broader audience, showcase the contribution of tourist guides worldwide and build a dynamic online community that supports our mission.
Activities
Organising events and initiatives for members. Organising diverse events, online and in person, to connect the global tourist guide community, including initiatives such as the Associations Journeys and mini-conferences, with opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange and professional development.
Conventions
Planning and coordinating our International Conventions. Enhancing the quality and experience of future WFTGA Conventions, with a focus on general considerations for future Conventions, the bidding documents and the bidding process.
Support
Assistance, resources and the website. Managing the Federation’s website and the technical administration of member management and digital tools, so that our online platforms run smoothly and members get the support they need.
