Area Representative Sergio Buitrago attended FIEXPO Latin America Workshop and Technical Visit August 10-13, 2026, in Córdoba, Argentina as a hosted buyer. His main objectives were to represent WFTGA and to promote the Federation in Argentina. On 11 August, he held 23 meetings with public and private stakeholders, making contact and creating leads for suppliers, content, and sponsorship sales for the WFTGA 2028 Convention in Cusco, Peru. Sergio had fifteen-minute meetings with government bodies, event organisers, receptive operators, and hotels. 

Some of the people he met with included Natasha Campana of the Agencia Córdoba Turismo (provincial tourism agency), Andrés Benetti, Director; President of the Córdoba Convention Bureau and Benetti Meetings & Conferences, Ernesto Castaldo of Congress Rental, Florencia Carnovale Márquez of C&Z Event Planners / CZ Agency, and many others. Sergio focused on possible opportunities for audiovisual and production support through partners in Peru, sponsorship sales, and destination presence for the Peru 2028 convention. He also worked on contacting the relevant parties for bringing Argentina, which is not currently a member, into WFTGA. 

Sergio submitted a detailed report to the Executive Board, including contact information for contacts interested in working with WFTGA on the Peru 2028 convention.
