On September 5, 2026, the Ethiopian Tourist Guides Professional Association held their annual General Assembly.

From ETGPA President Ashenafi SIleshi: “The General Assembly was opened with a very caring message of the President of the Association Ato Ashenafi Sileshi; then the 2025/26 (2018 E.C.) budget year annual activity and financial report with the one-year plan of 2026/27 (2019 E.C.) were presented in detail. Following broad, peaceful and adequately timed question-and-answer discussions, members were given the opportunity to request further clarification and seek explanations regarding both the reports and the plans. After the discussions, all the reports and plans were unanimously approved by the house.

The Assembly then proceeded to replace two Executive Committee members who, for various reasons, were unable to complete the two-year service term (2018 and 2019 E.C.) for which they had been elected at the closing General Assembly of the 2024/25 (2017 E.C.) fiscal year. Through a more transparent, free and fair election process, two new Executive Committee members were elected (individuals who are expected to bring fresh ideas, enrich the Association’s plans, support their colleagues & work toward the growth and development of the Association).

Finally, the Association honored individuals and organizations that stood alongside it throughout the 2025/26 (2018 E.C.) fiscal year by contributing their knowledge, effort and financial support. Certificates of recognition and appreciation were presented before the General Assembly in acknowledgment of their contributions.

Beyond simply presenting reports, the program strengthened members’ confidence in their leaders and in their Association. Then the event concluded by creating an opportunity for members to interact and exchange ideas during a tea and coffee break, followed by a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.”
