DEAR MEMBERS, COLLEAGUES, FRIENDS of WFTGA:

It is the 25th year we celebrate International Tourist Guide Day around the world and many volunteer for a major celebration in order to promote the profession of the “Area Specific Interpreter”.

Many organize guided tours for free: more than 40 cities in Germany  offer special treats (link: http://www.germany.travel/en/news/news_detail-156929.html   ); others try to collect money for a special task to help people in need; our Indian Member Association donates blood; Vienna Tourist Guides support a new Museum of Literature; again others support financing the restoration in their vicinity: major initiatives show our abilities and make people around us – especially authorities –become aware of the importance to have factual and interesting presentation of nearby treasures and to protect them.

To ensure quality and fun for the guest is an essential asset of a professional tourist guide: therefore I do wish all of you and your visitors joy and success!

Please let us know about your happening and report back for the next Guidelines Internetion@l!

Greetings from your WFTGA President, Felicitas Wressnig
