CPD: Storytelling — From Tour to Experience

Dramaturgy is the difference between a walk that delivers facts and a tour that people talk about for years. In this CPD session we look at how techniques from film, literature and theatre translate into the working conditions of a tourist guide.

What we cover

  • The central message of a tour and how to find it
  • Building an arc: opening, tension, resolution
  • Character, place and object as narrative anchors
  • Practical exercises you can apply on your next tour
