The World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) is calling on members, partners and stakeholders to host our 2nd Trainer Conference in 2027. This premier event features both the core conference and pre- and post-conference training courses. We are seeking a well-connected, affordable, and accessible destination to welcome our global community of tourist guide trainers.
- When: Ideally February or March 2027
- Duration: Approximately 18 days
- Working language: English
- Deadline for proposal submission: 30 May 2026.
As the Host, you will be tasked with:
- Securing full local sponsorship and managing event logistics, including an appropriate 4-day conference venue.
- Securing visas for a variety of nationalities.
- Providing a comfortable, fully-equipped classroom space (projectors, Wi-Fi, movable seating) for a total of 14 days of pre- and post-conference training.
- Coordinating accommodation and sustainable amenities for participants and trainers (details TBD).
- Supplying comprehensive transportation as required by the programme.
- Securing access to diverse heritage sites for guiding practice, facilitating hands-on learning.
- Enlisting local tourist guides to assist our trainers in developing vehicle, walking, and site-specific modules, thereby introducing them to WFTGA training principles.
