On September 9, 2026, the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington DC held their annual Trade Show & Job Fair at Arlington County Library. Representing the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA), Global Brand Ambassador Maricar Donato had the pleasure of meeting professional and new guides, sharing what WFTGA stands for, and introducing WFTGA’s mission, purpose, aims and objectives. A special highlight was promoting the next WFTGA Convention in Peru—an opportunity for tourist guides from around the world to come together to learn, connect, exchange ideas and strengthen our profession.

It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and curiosity of new guides discovering that our profession is not only local—it is part of a global community of tourist guides. From our local guiding community in Washington DC, to the world, WFTGA connects us.
